Definition of Special Needs/Rights

“those persons who are gifted or talented as well as those who have physical, mental, social or sensory impairment. Such groups may require the adoption of the “special needs education” where modifications of the school curricula, programs, and special services and physical activities are conducted to help them develop to their maximum capacity.“

Inclusion Policy of Keys School Manila

Thus, concomitant to every child’s uniqueness is his/her rights to be different.  Keys is an inclusive school whose program across all grade levels affirms many styles of learning and accommodates various challenges to learning.

Keys Special Rights FYIs:
1) All pertinent diagnostic reports from specialists/ therapists must be submitted.
2) A Letter of Endorsement from a Developmental Pediatrician that Keys has the learning environment conducive

     to the child’s growth and development.
3) Additional interviews of child, parents,  or previous school may be required.
4) A shadow-teacher may be a prerequisite for entry into the program for some cases.
5) Students on Learning Support services may incur additional fees.
6) Track your application status on Pinnacle. Results will be announced end of June. Decision on ADMISSION or DENIAL

     is final.

Assessment

Assessments are developmentally appropriate. The goal is to determine the applicant’s math and literacy competencies, behavior, and attitude

Late Enrollment

Basic Education Enrollment Policy (DepEd Order # 3, s. 2018)
“A school may accept late enrollees provided that the learner will be able to meet eighty percent (80%) of the prescribed number of school days for each school year…”.

 

Application runs until end of August. Results are released end of September.

Reservation

A reservation fee must be paid immediately to secure the slot after an acceptance notification. It is non-refundable and non-transferable should a child fail to enroll in the academic year applied for.
